Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Anti-Hazing Policy:  Any person(s) who voluntarily enter(s) the intake process or become(s) fully initiated into Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. shall not be subjected to hazing activities of any kind. Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. has enacted policies that prohibit such hazing activities.

Rush?: Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. does not do rush as it is primarily done in the Panhellenic Association and the Interfraternity Council. Instead we participate in the process of Intake which is done in the National Panhellenic Council and the National Multicultural Greek Council.

Intake vs. Pledging: Pledging is done during the Rush process in which everyone knows which sorority/fraternity an aspirant is wishing to join and that they are actively trying doing this. Intake is a more private event. It is a time in which the aspirant should reflect on themselves as a person. No one should know - except for a roommate or a parent - that the aspirant is planning on or is going to be joining Greek life.

Benefits: There are a wide range of jobs and positions that will help sisters on their leadership skills. As well as helping to connect with their campus to grow their social and service backgrounds.

GAP Involvement: GAP stands for our Graduate, Alumni and Professional Chapters. They are for graduated undergraduate sisters who wish to keep serving our mission and for women who did not get to the chance to join Greek life as an undergrad. GAP chapters help our undergraduate chapters by helping them get involve and finding new ways to help in their communities. Xi Theta is the graduate chapter serving the Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and Durham area.

GLBT+: Theta Nu Xi accepts and does not discriminate those who identify as a member of the GLBT+ community. The Illustrious Beta chapter is the first social organization at NC State to be certified in the Chapter Safe workshop focused on creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for those of the community, and pioneering other Greek orgs in taking and passing the workshop. We are happy to say that all orgs in MGC (multicultural greek council) are now certified.
